The Prolonged Meeting

Yup.! As the title says, today's meeting prolonged till 5.30 pm. There were 3 new chronies in to the team from the Civil Department - Uvashri , Rajapreetha and Divya. We were glad to hear when all these 3 new girls from II year openly admitted that they wished to join the crew voluntarily as they were impressed by our recent release - The Students Edition. The meeting commenced with the self-introduction from the new Chronies.

The color printer for our department has been sanctioned last week and I hope it will be the new pet animal of Chronies, which will be tamed with care ;-) Unfortunately, I could only announce this happy news but couldn't show it to the Chronies as the department was locked earlier today.

This meet was quite different. We spent only few time to discuss about our forthcoming Annual Edition 2011. The information to be published are being collected by the Student Correspondents. Hence, its left to them in a hope that they know their own responsibilities.

But then, you may wonder why this meeting was such a long one. There is a reason. Almost all of the members present there shared some news about the college:

• First of all it was me to start the college gossip. I volunteered myself as an invigilator for AMCAT (Aspiring Minds Computer Adaptive Test) held on 19th and 22nd August for Final Years. Hence, I shared my experience about it and discussed few etiquette to be followed when one undertakes an Online Test like it.
  
  
• Lucky from II yr ECE shared how the inauguration of their department association happened. It was about Society for Advancement of Electronics and Communication Engineers (SAECE).
  
  
• Abhijeeth, an enthusiastic artist from III yr Mett explained us why the first ever inauguration of Arts and Photography club of GCE is still being delayed.
  
  
• The Tamil Literary Association's active member in our team - Anand, III yr Mett, updated us about few happenings in the weekly meetings there. He also told us about the preparations going on for inauguration of SFAME (Society For Advancement of Metallurgical Engineers)
  
  
• Sathya Narayanan, the III yr CSE geek informed us how the Decade Anniversary of the department - Revive 11.0 was organized by their final years.
  
  
• Surendiran, II yr Civil spoke about certain Anti - Ragging issues going on in the campus.

With that we called off the day. Next Wednesday, being Ramzan holiday, we won't have our weekly meeting. Hence, next update after Sep 7.
