The
successful release of the Annual edition 2011, the tense semester exams and the
long, hot summer holidays were quite a short break for the newsletter team
which me this Friday (15.06.2012). The team’s works went on undisturbed by the
gap and it met with rejuvenated vigor. With the third years
becoming the final years now and the 2nd years becoming the pre-final years, the team missed the final years that passed out. Their loss is definitely a huge one and the team would make all arrangements to make it up and maintain its efficiency. This being the first meeting of the semester, the Chronies took some time to chill out with their friends.

The
team had two new comers from the present 2nd year- Deepak Krishna
from Mech and Sathammai from CSE. Their self introduction started off the meet
which discussed seriously about the future plans. As of now, it is decided that
there are two upcoming editions of the newsletter. They are:
1.
A Gecofest special edition,
2.
A publication of the best projects in our college.
The
works for these two editions started long ago and are nearing completion. 29th
of July is the tentative date for the release of the Geco edition, while the
special edition on projects will be released later.
As
the team is presently 3 members lesser than last year (the pass outs), it is
looking to bring in a few more members. So, students of GCE, of any year, who are
interested in joining the team may contact the already existing team members.
The
Editorial team also rejoiced the appointment of its Editor-in-chief, Dr. S. K.
Chitra Lakshimi as the new Head of the English Department. It is for sure we
will continue to receive a mammoth support and guidance from our dear mam.
This
is also an appeal to the students who passed out last year. We would be happy
if you send in the abstract of your project works to our mail id- gcenewsletter2010@gmail.com. The best of the projects would find
their place in the later release.
