In Touch 85 Newsletter and the Book Club

We're inspired by seeing the alumni of the institution who still have the gratitude to offer back something good and useful to their alma mater. Here goes the story behind this launch:

Few weeks ago, Chitra Mam got a mail from one of the alumnus of '85 batch, sending across this newsletter prepared by him with his team. He requested her to publish it through GCE Chronicles, the college newsletter.  Since it contained missing information about the people who created it, we contacted him and asked for the info. His reply was few forwarded mails from his friends telling not to mention their names as there are chances to miss out the names of few people who indirectly helped in making the Annual Alumni Get-together "In Touch 85", a grand success. How responsible and matured they are!

There was also a pleasant surprise for the Department of English. We got parcels containing inspirational English books from FlipKart. Yes! We later got mails from the same person requesting to initiate a book club through the English Literary Association of the College. Fatafat, the Book Club was inaugurated in the ELA last week and the rules are being formulated. Soon, a catalog of books received will be updated in the college website. Stay connected at:

I'm sure, this act will surely motivate the present students of GCE Salem to have affinity towards the college even after their course of study.
