TCS inks MoU with GCE, Salem

Speaking during the signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between TCS and Government College of Engineering (GCE), Mr. Ashok said that students do extremely well in schools and colleges in highly competitive environment and TCS identifies the skills in newly recruited candidates and motivate them to excel. But their capacity to work as team, which is vital, brings out success in projects, he added.


Of the over 2,000 colleges in the country, TCS visits 250 colleges for campus recruitment and of the 535 colleges in the State, 45 colleges were visited for the same, every year. He also said that a stringent process was followed by the company for partnering institutions, as only 12 MoUs were signed with educational institutions across the country. The MoU would enable TCS to conduct knowledge development programmes for students.

Under the Academic Interface Programme (AIP), GCE received the Collaboration Institute certificate that would explore the possibility of supporting TCS in learning, hiring and carrying out research requirements.


The first women principal of the institution, Dr. R.S.D. Wahida Banu said that students were trained to the industrial needs, as apart from academics, value added courses were conducted for them. She also appealed to students to engage in activities to improve their communication and life skills and accomplish their goals.

V. Rajkumar, Training and Placement Officer of the college, said that of the total 285 students placed in 2012, 108 students were placed in TCS. Students of various departments spoke about the prospects of working in TCS, the knowledge of which they gained from their seniors.

  1. Its a Great milestone for Gce...It will be too good if TCS increases the grade for GCE and make mass recruitment than ever before::))
